"Dad, where is my horse?" Today we spent the evening at Holiday Farms, riding horseback to our remote steak dinner destination. The bears truly enjoyed this treat. (60 horses later, each bear found his or her special horse).

The Best Western we are staying at has a decent sized swimming pool with a waterslide. The bears enjoyed the extra perk.

Cheers from Canmore! We spent the day swimming and enjoying the area, yesterday. We capped the day off by eating at Rockie Mountain Flat Bread Company. The bears were enjoying their mixed drinks.

Our travels to the Little Yoho Valley continued for three nights (July 8-10). The little bears rested during this time, after the enduring hike to the Stanley Mitchell. Most hikers avoid the Iceline trail, which the bears impressively conquered. The trail is not only the most picturesque view to date, but the most strenuous trek we have experienced. Although our totals for this trip don't match previous, our zeal for the Rockies continue. We logged 14 miles & 2800 ft, bringing our total to 40.1 miles & 11300ft altitude gain. The weather continues to be cooler than normal (45-60f) and very few periods of rain, by the way. We selected a perfect time, considering the sweltering heat in Arizona. We are currently back in Canmore staying at a Best Western for the next two nights.

For our Geologists who are reading this blog, I thought I would include this shot for you. I sighted some very interesting rock formations during my travels through this moraine. You could see the glacial scarring on the rock surface. Deep Reds, Browns, Yellows, and Blueish Greys, are some of the vivid colors identified. We met a couple from Canmore (Dana & Denise) staying at the Stanley Mitchell, who were avid mountaineers. Dana & Denise enthralled us with stories regarding their travels, climbs, flowers, and science information. They were very thoughtful and we hope can see them again when Denise participates in the next Rock N Roll Marathon in Arizona.

You can see the kids and mom traversing the moraine near the end of the picture.

Wilson! (Our cast away friend!) The bears could not resist more fun in the snow. They took time out during our mini hike to a nearby moraine. They deserve an "A" for creativity.

What in the world am I showing off the biffy. Well, one of the bears happened to visit this remote biffy by accident. haha! They said it was a composter, an exceptionally smelling one -- strange to report this fact. So, I tried her out. An "A" class biffy! Solar powered too. The warden nearby said they have problem often, because of the short growing season. They have add organisms frequently to increase the composting production.

Home, Home on the Range... The kids got a kick out of this guitar, which was left in the hut since 1983. The next custodian on July 10th, Rori, happened to be an avid guitar player and noted water color painter. The kids really enjoyed his musical talents.

The sleeping quarters were tight.. Very tight indeed. There was an older man cutting wood all night long! Ouch! We really could have used some decent ear plugs for this hut. The back window is suppose to be the emergency exit. Pretty scary.

The bears met two new girls of the same age as the oldest bear, who were from Montana's Glacier National Park. They were definitely card junkies and taught our kids three new card games: spoons, doubt it, and slap jack.
