The commencement of this trail travels through a steep heavily wooded trail. The first two miles we gained approximately 1000ft.. The terrain, vegetation and temperature quickly changed. We moved from the sub alpine zone to the fringes of the alpine zone. You notice in the frame that bear #3 is now wearing fleece gloves and the immature trees.
